I can't seem to get any solid information as to whether it is safe to swim in the Gulf waters. We are considering a trip to Gulf Shores next week. HELP!

Also, what is a nice condo complex for our family? We have three children ages 7, 5, and 2.

Thanks!!

I would visit the beach for sure, but personally I wouldn't get in the water. I doubt it is a true health risk though, and maybe it might be ok unless the flags are up? But personally, I am not going to and am waiting till next summer ... just to play it safe. I have friends and family that have though.

My husband and I were just down at Orange Beach while visiting family in Mobile and the water was clear. There were a lot of people out there swimming and we were on the beach just letting the water run over our feet. Not sure exactly where we were but I know it was just right up the road from Florida.
Here are a couple of pictures that I took on Monday.

Thanks. We had an awesome time. We didn't go prepared to swim because we'd heard that the beaches were closed but that wasn't the case. It was beautiful. My husband is originally from Mobile and this was my first time going. It's almost enough to make me tired of being in a landlocked state

We're seriously thinking about it. Maybe in the next year or so. I know this is getting off topic so I'm sure I'll be posting questions in the forum eventually

I would just be too freaked out with the flesh eating bacteria vibrio vulnificus. Even the prettiest water can be just as dangerous.

The water's fine now. I wouldn't be too concerned IMO.
