This is a question about mail.
I just moved (from one house in Mobile to another, in the same zip code).
I did the address change online. But it takes a few days to come into effect.
I've made arrangements with the house owner to set aside my mail, and I will go collect it.
But a new tenant has already moved in. The mailman came with a package for me. The tenant told the mailman to take it away as the person is no longer staying there.
If I had known a new tenant is going to move in so fast, I would have given him a headsup.
So now, my parcel is returned to post office, probably as undelivered. My question is - do they destroy it straightaway? Can I go to the postoffice to get it back?

I have had the same problem and no they don`t destroy it unless it is over 30days old ( I think) but what I do know is that they will not destroy it right away.Just find the Post Offfice that handles the mail in your area and they will have it.

Thks! I went there this morning and spoke with the mail supervisor. He recognises me. He has sent the parcels to the new address. So everything is good!
