Default The Saraland School District (Mobile area) - What does that mean?

I am not from Alabama, but I found this out on the internet.

The City of Saraland voted to split from the Mobile County Public School System and start its own school district. al.com: Everything Alabama

Saraland plans to acquire Saraland Elementary School and Adams Middle School, as well as build a new high school.

So, what does this mean for Saraland? And, what does this mean for the nearby City of Satsuma, which is zoned to Adams Middle School? Will Mobile County build a new middle school in Satsuma? Will Satsuma get rezoned to another middle school? Will the grade configuration at Satsuma High School (Which currently serves much of Saraland) change?

I live in Saraland but not in the "city limits" so according to everything I have heard we are not included in the new school system. I am curious also what the plans are for those of us who are zoned for Adams Middle School. Where are the children in this area going to go? and why are we paying taxes to Saraland but are not included in the new school? If you hear anything I would love to know, I have not been successful with having anyone return my phone calls.

"I live in Saraland but not in the "city limits"..."

You cannot pay taxes to the Saraland City. From my understanding, if you are not in the city limits, you cannot be taxed by the city. If you live in the city limits, you pay taxes to the city.

Check your bills. If there is a doubt to your residency, call the city.
