Default Wallace Tunnel on Interstate 10 not among nation's worst bottlenecks

UPDATED: Wallace Tunnel on Interstate 10 not among nation's worst bottlenecks, study says | al.com

I have to agree with what the study says...the Wallace Tunnel can get bad but it is nowhere near the nation's worst traffic areas.

Thoughts?

Where are you from Sailor? Wallace gets bad almost everyday. It may not be #1 but def not #189. Probably in the 5-20 range.

Not even close. It does get bad but try driving I-10 in Houston, or San Antonio, or Jacksonville...there are many places that are much worse. I aint sayin' its good, but it certainly isn't among the worst.

What concerned me more is the part of the article that says they plan to demolish the connectors to Water St. The Water St entry isn't the problem...its the people who ride their brakes down to the bottom of the tunnel that cause most of the backups.

Can't be that high. Baton Rouge has worse traffic and isn't in the top 50.

I'm talking on I-10. I've been to Baton Rouge 4x for LSU games and traffic wasn't that bad.

I know where it is, I've been through the tunnel numerous times.

America's 75 Worst Commutes - The Daily Beast
Baton Rouge listed at #13, Mobile not listed. List of 75.

Baton Rouge has the worst traffic in the nation for a city it's size.

I agree !! Baton Rouge`s Interstate was not designed for a metro of 800 K +. It was design for a 400 K metro.
