So far Silverhill sounds good to me but I would like to get some more specifics. Anyone live there that has been successful with a garden? Are the people friendly. Biting insects and snakes bad? Any breeze from the Gulf or is it to far away? Any particular areas in or around Silverhill that have more shade and housing could be found for around 130,000? Any parts to stay away from?
Thanks,
Vicki

Silverhill is not more than wide spot in the road. There are mosquitoes especially in summer. I suspect if you live in a house you will have the normal insects so much depends on where you live. It is very humid and hot in summer. There is no breeze from the gulf.

I love Silverhill area. It is so pretty there. You can have a garden and grow lots of veggies. My family lives in Summerdale and they have a veggie garden plus chickens. You can also grow some fruit like Satsumas and pears. You will be fairly close to Fairhope and to Robertsdale/Foley.

The soil will likely be sandy, so you may need to amend the soil a bit for a good garden.

There are not bad areas in Silverhill as such. It's a very nice friendly town...small and great for "country" life if you wish. There are homes in your price range that are quite spacious and fairly new. One in particular caught my eye...1600 sq ft, 4/2, all brick with a very nice lot. Hope you can come down an explore Silverhill. Good luck!
