I just moved to Mobile, and I'd like to get involved in some adult co-ed sports. Maybe softball or soccer. Something to get some exercise and meet people!

I did some looking on the internet, and found absolutely nothing except youth club sports. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Brian

Try County Parks and Recreation. Many send this information thru the mail or leave brochures at local libraries. Also, the countries should have their own websites with activities listed. Another source, YMCA.

No luck with Mobile Parks and Rec. I'll try local libraries, maybe USA might have some open clubs. Really didn't mind much except for kids.

Maybe Mobile locals just don't get out and exercise much! Most other cities I've lived in had tons of local club sports. I'm recalling the recent thread on Alabama obeseity...

I had a great time in Seattle doing club soccer. Playing a non-completitive game and then throwing down a few beers on a Wednesday night is a great way to break up the week!

On the up side, I've found that West Mobile suprisingly has quite a population of cyclists and triathletes (other things I'm interested in).

If you go to

Parks

this gives two addresses and phone numbers to parks in Mobile.

I don't know about the first one listed but the second one, (the West Mobile Park) I have been to this one. My husband played with the church one year so I am not really sure how it all works. I do believe they have coed teams that can play. You have mens, womens and co-ed. All this park is set up to do is soft ball. If I remember right they have like 4 diferent fields that have games going on all at the same time. There was quite a few people that play there. I was supprised that that many people played. The park is brightly lit at night. It is in a good part of town, as far as being safe.

I hope this helped. I'm sorry I'm a little late. I haven't been on in a while.

Another thing is this park all adults.

I am very interested in getting into so adult sports leagues. I played football and rugby in college but am now bogged down on Tues and Thur nights with my son's activities. I would love to find any soccer or activity to play on the other nights. Let me know if you find anything?

Have you ever played indoor (gynasium) soccer. I work at a fitness center that has a gym and would like to get a basketball league and an indoor soccer league there. I have been renting the gym to private groups untill I can get something started on my own. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Default New Indoor Soccer Center in Baldwin County

A new indoor soccer center will be opening in Baldwin County in late 2009 behind the Eastern Shore Center. Follow its progress at www.IndoorSoccerCenter.net.

I'm in Daphne until at least March for work, i'd like to get together and kick a ball around if anybody's game? You don't need an official club!!! Back in Scotland we just find 10 people up for a kick about, arrange a night on an indoor pitch or just find a spot in a public park. finish up early enough to grab a post game beer.

My e-mail is sparkyjim85@gmail.com if anybody needs a player for a game or wants to kick a ball around
