Dave & Buster's either at mcGowin Park or Bel Air Mall would be phenomenal for Mobile and the traffic it would receive!!!

My sister works at the west Mobile target and she said there is talk about moving the mall Target to Mcgowin.

Dave & Busters isn't going to happen because you need a daytime pop from 700k to 1m within 10 miles and Mobile only draws around 400-500k daily

Panama City (smaller than mobile) recently got one Dave and Buster's Panama City Beach, Florida - and plus, Mobile and Pensacola are within an hour of one another and contribute well to each others' economy. Also, the fact that Mobile is growing with Airbus and all helps. The Mobile CSA population, including across the bay as of 2012 according to wikipedia was 604,726 people, and that is growing. Mobile just needs to have the right stuff and traffic will really pick up, and if Bel Air pans out as planned, that will be the case. retailer's, like Whole Foods, sometimes change their strategy and become more willing to go to markets that they have avoided.

I want it too, I'm just going by what D&B list on their website. Hopefully this does happen, I mean it would draw way more than 10 miles out I think just because of Pcola and Biloxi

What Rouse Properties is attempting along the front end of the mall is a streetscape of specialty stores, a format sorely needed at Bel Air. Versona Accessories, Lululemon Athletica (maybe?) and Pottery Barn will be complemented by casual dining restaurants. Pottery Barn would have more visibility here on Airport Boulevard than in its current, somewhat sequestered ESC location.

I didnt see that on their website, but I do see a list of locations and some of these cities and towns are in the middle of no where and have populations as low as 6,000.

Market Requirements

Super-regional Draw:
  • 700,000 to 1,000,000 daytime population (within 10 miles)
  • Average guest travels 22 minutes to visit our stores.
Which cities have only 6,000? There is Glen Allen VA at 15k but is 14 miles from Richmond and Springdale OH which is 20 miles from Cincinnati. Homestead PA is 3,150 but only 7 miles from Pittsburgh. Plymouth Meeting has 6,000 but is 18 miles from Philly. Utica Michigan is 25 miles from Detroit. None of these cities are in the middle of no where and have population that low.

Between Mobile, Pensacola and Gulfport areas, we could make a case for one as that covers 1.6 million people but not 700,000 at one single point covering a 10 mile radius.

They're opening a Dave & Buster's in New Orleans on Poydras Street!!! But what I would do for a Macy's anywhere in Mobile!!! Maybe when the Belk at Sprindgdale mall closes to consolidate in the the will be vacated Sears, they will put a Macy's there, for that will garner traffic to Springdale mall and help give it some life and perhaps establish it as a complimentary mall to Bel Air mall!!!
