It would be great to have Barnes & Noble back in Mobile. The parcel of land surrounding Fox 10 Studios would be a great site for future development.

I'm still waiting on any new developments concerning Hickory Tavern. I emailed them last week but have not heard anything back. McGowin needs a decent dining place that isn't burgers or bbq.

Didn't know Hickory Tavern had intentions to come here.

If B&N comes back here, it would more than likely be at the expense of their Eastern Shore Centre store. They do not seem like they are in ANY brick and mortar expansion mode, and they are losing in the battle against Amazon.

I'd love to see either a 2nd & Charles or a Half Price Books here. 2nd & Charles is owned by Books A Million and is usually a converted former BAM store that sells used materials. HPB is the same idea, but it is a much larger chain with smaller stores and new items mixed in.

Barnes & Noble will be coming to Springdale Mall. I'm not sure when. I saw this at the stop sign on Sprindale Blvd. behind the closed Belk.

That's an old sign. They used to be in Springdale, but left years ago. I think about a lease dispute.

I always enjoyed B&N much more than Books a Million.

Default Publix will be opening there

Found out from Field of Stream and Costco employees they are gonna open late next year. I think Publix is wanting to wipe out any competition from Rouse's and finish off Winn Dixie once and for all and own the Mobile grocery market.

I don't think it would be wise for Publix to build right next to Costco. Costco's meat and produce prices alone would crush them smh.

Both Publix and Rouse's are great and they both offer something different. Rouse's Markets cater to the culture of the Gulf Coast and so those Publix to a certain extent. I think they both will soon destroy the Greer's family markets and Winn - Dixie may be.
