Buck's is a franchised concept with a few locations across the country. Did they also own the location at Bel Air Mall that is now American Deli (and was Bella Vita before it was Buck's?)

My wife and I ate there today for our last round and talked to the owner. It was owned by a women and she sold it to the owner of Pizzeria Dauphina after Mardi Gras. He explained how he was going to chnage things around.

I've always been shocked by the fact there is only 1 oyster bar downtown...especially with all the new local oyster companies popping up.

If they do it right it could be a hit and will seriously hurt Wintzells (wouldn't be too hard to be better than them)

I've just made it back home after trips to Portland, St. Louis, Atlanta, and New Orleans. So who is going to put pressure on Mobile to pursue Lime Scooters and/or Bird Scooters (besides me)? Small electric scooters are so much easier and more user-friendly than Lime Bikes. The bikes feel outdated, but the scooters are great. For anyone who is not familiar, google what I'm referring to. So fun, and so useful. Or, if I'm just unaware, do we already have these?

Scooters are illegal on public roads under state law. The city is looking to change that to allow scooters. Gotcha (the replacement for Lime in Mobile) has scooters but cannot allow them here due to the state law. For now, Gotcha can only provide the electric-assist bikes, which they will start with this summer.

Ugh. They are mainly used on sidewalks from what I have experienced in the 4 cities I listed. Regardless of sidewalk or street, they would be perfect for downtown. So much more convenient. Hopefully we catch up.

Does anyone know why the plans for the civic center were pushed back? I sure hope they decide on something great!
