Hey!! I actually moved to Mobile from Birmingham about 3 years ago. I live in west mobile near the university! i love it here and the city actually really cool. i feel safer downtown mobile than downtown birmingham. it has a decent nightlife and it's growing a lot. the surrounding cities like pensacola and gulf port are nice too. i don't mind hitting up the casinos every once in a while. i loved bham, but i have really grown to love mobile and call it home for the time being!!!

Thank you for replying. Any suggestions on an apartment complex near USA?

Other than Regency Gates suggested by another poster? I would like to have 4-5 to check out.

I did a Google Search and I can see that there are plenty of apartments around USA. I guess I would just like to ask some of you are there some areas around USA that I would wan't to avoid?

Also, is Airport noise a problem? There are lot's apartments around the Buffalo Wild Wings on Airport Road, and South of there, but is it unlivable due to the Airport noise?

The airport is out west of Schillingers Rd, so the noise isn't really a problem.

If you want to be near Buffalo Wild Wings (it's an old Picadilly) I highly recommend Timber Ridge Apartments, I lived there for two years and never had a problem.

Yeah Timber Ridge or Green Tree for Airport. Huntleigh Woods on Hilcrest Rd, and Kingswood Apartment Homes on Old Shell Rd.

(Pardon to cliche) Hundreds of thousands of people attend these festivities...
Sloss Fest? Sidewalk Film Festival? Magic City Classic? Fiesta?

Granted, it really depends on the individual. And Mardi Gras is also the largest and most historical of the few.

Some of my classmates live in Timber Ridge and love it. I live in a townhouse close to campus and the rent is very reasonable! I also have 2 roommates but regardless, just about everywhere is pretty reasonable. It's a gated community and mostly families live there so there's not the problem of loud college students here. Super nice!

You're right... certainly it will depend on the individual. However, generally speaking, Mardi Gras is by far and away the biggest and most "accommodating".
