New Mc Gregor Springs at The Village of Springhill rendering : https://flic.kr/p/28B5LdX.

I like the fact that it's a non cookie cutter shopping center. Does anyone know who the tenants will be ?

That's really nice. What's in the surrounding area? Does it fit in, or is there nothing else around?

The rendering reminds me a little bit of the shops when you are going into the neighbohood around Ross Bridge golf course.

In the immediate area there isn't really nothing but for the Springhill Village area in general they definitely fit in.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the new development on old shell by I-65. Gonna be turning an office building and what looks like was a former church into a 4 tenant development with at least a coffee shop. Plus building a completely new building in the parking lot with residences above presumably retail. They plan on adding the Spring Hill streetscape with a wide sidewalk, trees, and decorative lights over the sidewalk.

This comes at the same time that the rouses shopping center is undergoing construction to make it more upscale and add 2 on street buildings also with the Spring Hill streetscape as discussed in the past.

The chinaberry house at old shell and Wacker lane has progressed quickly with the renovation of the house, chapel, and kitchen(not a huge fan or painting the whole thing black).

Hopefully mcgregor springs actually gets going again soon to capitalize on mcgregor being reconstructed between old shell and Spring Hill and a more upscale pedestrian friendly intersection at Spring Hill and mcgregor that’s coming soon

The same developer that is doing McGregor Springs (which should begin soon) will be doing the development at Old Shell and 65 (near Batre). Interesting stuff!

I’m hearing rumors that ace hardware and al’s 5&10 will be abandoning the Spring Hill shopping center when their leases run out due to the owners of the shopping center not allowing them to put plants outside their business. Red beard outfitters has also abandoned the shopping center since redevelopment started. Pizza Hut left a couple years ago and courtlandt’s pizza has closed. If both of them do leave, that brand newly renovated shopping center is gonna be missing major tenets

Hmmm. 1)I mean with the new look of the building that could be a little tacky Mayne they should make away for it in the back?, 2) Where would they both go ?, and 3) It may give them a chance to court some upper or midscale scale tenants.

People are saying ace hardware could relocate to the strip in between Spring Hill Ave and museum drive down by municipal park. I’m not sure where al’s 5&10 could relocate and still stay in the Spring Hill market. I’m really hoping for some quality restaurants there or in the out parcels. We’ve got enough nail places and women’s boutiques
