Mobile has a lot of underutilized beach property. South just sold 40 million dollars worth of it to a couple of private investors. I hope it will not be industrial. Parts of the 3MC( 3 Mile Creek) is beachy actually.

I heard about that property being sold, but don't know much about it (still new to the area) does the property have a "living coastline" currently or is it walled off? It'd be nice to have something similar to the waterfront park that Daphne has.

Living coastline with sand and all ! And if Mobile goes a few days without rain it could be crystal clear near the line.

Welcome to Mobile !

That is awesome! Hopefully it won't end up being industrial, it sounds like a good spot to take the family one day.
Thank you, we like it here so far

I know this is probably irrelevant to the post, but reading it jarred a memory in my mind of when my mom used to take me and my brother swimming at Alba Beach. I have a memory of it being of DIP somewhere, I wonder if it’s still there and still accessible as a “beach”....anyone know?

I think some parts of it is.Especially around the Buccaner Yacht Club. There are parts of Bayfront road that have sandy beach access.
