They better not move into my house.. that is all I have to say..
Seriously though, I think Tootsie should visit both areas.

Mobile will likely be less expensive...
Mobile is going to be less expensive than Fairhope. There are a lot of single older ladies over there, though- my mom is one.
Mobile is where it is happening, and Midtown is going to be the best investment in the long run. Eventually new subdivisions get old and dated and noone wants to live in them anymore. Although it seems Spring Hill will always be the absolute best investment if you look at price per sq foot. As I said before, I prefer Midtown since I have an allergic reaction to ranch houses. My house price has gone up so much since we first moved here over 6 years ago or so. I do hear gunshots from time to time. I read the paper daily; noone died or was shot. I don't know why they love to shoot guns so much. Maybe they are shooting rats? Now that I think about it, that was a common thing also when we lived out in the county in West Mobile. Of course, you didn't think much about it out there.
If you plan to work in Fairhope then live there, by all means. But don't do it if you plan to drive into Mobile to work. I would not live there AND drive to work in Mobile; it's pretty grueling traffic. Did it for 3 miserable months and won't again. My mom lives there and loves it. But I've got two neighbors that lived over there and moved to Midtown; they love Midtown. They couldn't handle the drive and said people aren't that friendly. I would rather drive in Airport Blvd traffic than down HWY 98 towards Fairhope. I rarely drive west of I-65 so am not often in traffic here. There are only two lanes to Fairhope and they will NOT get out of the way so you can pass. Oh, it's miserable and they need to do something about it.

My cousin who lived in Mobile's reaction was heck no! you need to live in Mobile, 'cause you would be bored to death in Baldwin County. She knows I love to be busy.
I have no idea what I will be doing. Starting some business doing something I can sell per usual.
Midtown sounds great to me!

I have only seen one snake since I have been in Mobile. It was a green snake that was probably lost in the new development.
I have never seen a rat since I moved here.
Where are you thinking of moving from Dannys Nana?

I have only seen one snake also and it was black and green, Mobile doesn`t have rats running from the drain into the streets like a major metro.

We currently own a home in Daphne, Al but aren't living there due to job transfer, the selling market is down but I understand Mobile is putting in a steel mill and in Saraland a race track amusement park? I think if you live in Mobile, I did real estate in Mobile county downtown/historic midtown is where you would want to be but if you like Baldwin county you can't beat either before you get directly into Gulf Shores or Spanish Fort/Daphne b/c yes it is growing quickly, they put in the big shopping center while we were there and I understand Bass Pro Shop is coming. by the way I did forget Fairhope it is lovely downtown I am not sure how expensive it is but very nice. I would be careful in Mobile where you live it is easy to cross over in an area that you may not want to live, I did it so I know.
