There is no arguing - just stating facts, as supported by objective data. All the OP has to do is research it for him/herself. The data is online for him/herself to see. My father-in-law had never had a problem either UNTIL he was accosted at gunpoint on his porch in a very nice area in downtown Mobile. Some here are trying to defend something that is not defensible. It would be like trying to say a 'red apple is not red'. You can say it as much as you like, but it doesn't make it so. As great a city as NOLA is, even most residents there will admit crime is a problem. Mobile's high crime stats don't deter from many of its positive attributes, but they do need to be recognized. I'm pleased that the Mobile Police Report (as posted earlier) shows some recent improvement in crime. I hope this trend continues.

If you guys are done trying to figure out who is more right, I'd like to refer to my original post and remind you that I've already looked at the crime maps, and posted here specifically to get input from the locals. I HAVE been researching for myself...before I posted here.

Thank you and have a nice day!

You’re right. I should really not play into these tired arguments.

I don't want to start a new thread on this (or any arguments), but how [what] are the Covid restrictions in Mobile? Restaurants open for dining? Masks required anywhere/everywhere? Prove you're vaccinated or give up your first born?

I'm currently living in St. Pete, FL - restaurants have been back open for a while, a month or so ago mask restrictions were lifted pretty much everywhere (except hospitals/clinics, etc.) I don't really watch the news so I have no idea what is going on elsewhere. Just wondering what I should be prepared for.
