No kidding? You mean it wasnt committed by MIT grads working on Wall Street?
The point is to avoid those cities that have a lot of people with negative lifestyle choices. The more there are, the greater the odds of being a victim. And the unpleasant truth is that some cities, like Mobile and New orleans, provide you with a greater chance of being a victim.
And no, not all crime is a product of personal beefs. A lot of it is to steal and those people with negative lifestyle choices are nevertheless often smart enough to target those people who are likely to have something worth stealing. And you know who that is? Yeah, people like me.
And i suggest you give your condescending 'get out of your bubble' attack, a rest. I lived in various areas of NYC continuously for several decades and there aint no bubbles there.
Yeah I’m sure people move to midtown and live in expensive houses so they can get their stuff stolen. What a great concept. You don’t know anything about the city other than your conception of crime stats. It’s obvious that all crime isn’t a product of personal beefs. But the overwhelming majority of violent crime is that way. It’s mostly young black men that are the victims of these crimes is my point. These areas are easily avoidable and most of the city’s land mass is perfectly safe for everyone, as previously stated. It’s just small pockets of crime which inflate the crime statistics. If you don’t put it in context then you’re thinking the whole city looks bad when the reality is much different. That’s like thinking everywhere in Chicago is like the south side.

Whatsamatter? You mad I didnt congradulate you for living in the hood and not turning to a life of crime? Guess what, not committing crimes is supposed to be the everyone's default position, not some crowning achievement.
Like Chris Rock said: Dont brag to me how you stayed and supported your family and didnt abandon them - that just what youre supposed to do.

Youre right. Crime stats are gross descriptions and do not take into account the lived experience of a city. For instance Manhattan used to have some really bad areas but I was able to easily avoid those areas while I lived there. Mobile is probably the same.
But at the same time, cities that have fewer of those bad areas are preferable to me since life is always playing the odds. And in a city with a lower crime rate, your odds are a little better. And when you have a family, that's important.

I don't need your congratulations, you wouldn't know me if you saw me.And if you did your praises and acknowledgments are not needed. And notice that I call them communities rather than hoods because people like you often forget that , that's what they are smh. And if bragging is what you got out of it then you are far lost then I original assumed that you are.

In your attempt to become literate you may consider learning how to disagree with someone without becoming totally ad hominem.
And yes I call those crime-ridden areas 'hoods' just like I call people who mug innocent old people, 'vicious criminals' and 'thugs' not people 'who made unwise life choices'.

Yeah what ever " ad hominum" smh.

In your attempt to become less obtuse. I hope you realize that pockets of crime in neighborhoods doesn't totally reflect a city.
