Downtown will ... or at least Government, Dauphin, and Water Streets will. The rest of the area is not near as picturesque. Mobile has a very neat downtown area though if you mainly venture on the forementioned streets.

Wow, loved the 4th of July particularly.
Get a photo of the actual historic part Battle House Hotel, too, if you can, rather than the RSA tower attached to it. Get a photo of the amazing lobby. |

All of the Midtown Historic Districts are awesome! Too many streets to name, actually; but hey, I live here in this heaven after 8 years of boring, treeless West Mobile. Thank God I moved! We go downtown at least 4 times a week to visit, shop, and/or eat. It truly has been a huge lifestyle change that has been exciting. Please check out in Midtown alone: Blacklawn Street, Dauphin Street, Government Street to Houston Street, Houston Street, Bienville Street, North Monterey Street, Monterey Place, Julia Street, Hunter Street, South Georgia Avenue, Selma St, Palmetto Street, Rapier Avenue, Roper Avenue, Savannah, Old Shell Road, Silverwood, Flo Claire neighborhood, Spring Hill Avenue (Ashland Place neighborhood particularly)and many more that are just too many to list!!!! On Spring Hill Avenue, you will find the Bragg-Mitchell home house museum. There is a stretch of huge old oak trees down Government looking east from Ann Street along the Oakleigh Historic district that is really unbelievable. There is a house museum here to see: Oakleigh Historic Complex. Maybe if I get a chance, I will post some photos too but I don't think I can take photos as well as the beautiful ones provided. How about I just encourage you to go back downtown and take more, more, more! ![]() |

I never said there were not great Midtown streets too.
![]() Just saying that the nicest parts of Downtown are towards Water street and Royal street N/S and up and down Dauphin/Government E/W. |
