DD, I disagree. Except for the two run-down apartment complexes parrallel to Davidson, "Family Place" (lol) @ Michael & Montlimar, and a run-down neighborhood across Azalea from the middle school (used to be Azalea middle) ... the area in general is actually very well-kept and nice. I mean, I guess I stayed more towards Airport Blvd and less towards Cottage Hill for the most part, but still. I used to ride my bike through the whole area every day and never felt unsafe - in the very least. It's not an upper-class area for sure, but it's still a decent middle class area. I've only been gone from Mobile for 3 months now. Surely an atomic bomb hasn't hit that area since then.

By the way, I even rented a house in Greenwhich. Liked it there too.

And as for the OP, we've moved way off subject since then anyway .

Hi everyone! New here and will be relocating to Mobile soon (with my 9 year old daughter). Was searching online for apartments and considering Greentree along Airport Blvd.
Any feedback on Greentree? I'd love to hear your suggestions too.

Greentree (if I am correct, near Airport/Hillcrest) is a decent complex. Not the fanciest, but definitely better than an average complex. The only drawback I would say - is that it is located off a very high-traffic section of Airport Blvd. It might be a pain getting out in traffic during the morning rush or evening rush. Other than that, it would be a good place to live. Good area of town.

I should say that I have never lived there though, so I do not know about landlords, inside of the apartments, etc.

Green Tree is a a decent looking complex and is in a safe area near several shops and restaurants. Like the previous poster mentioned it is in a high traffic area but you can get use to it though.

I think Greentree has the same floorplans as Lafayette Square, which means that they are older with a central hallway (I know the one bedrooms are like that). I never cared for that design, but some may like it. They do look well kept though.

Just wanted to add, you should check out Cimarron Ridge on Grelot Rd, very nice complex for the money.

Thank you for the replies oscottscotto, PortCity and Southernnaturelover =)

I think I can bear with the traffic, as long as it won't take an hour to drive to work (Gordon Smith Drive, Southland Drive) then it's all good.

At one point I did consider Cimarron Ridge however they did not have W/D in unit (finicky when it comes to that) so I had find alternatives. Reviews I read online about the complex were great though.

How's the public school system in the district? Schools I'm considering are Mary B Austin and ER Dickson. Would love to hear what you guys think.
