Default Grand Bay Living?

Greetings All.
I am new to this part of the gulf coast, but not to the south. I was recently hired by a defense contractor in Pascagoula and am looking to purchase a home. I've been driving all over coastal MS and Grand Bay AL and prefer the rural setup of GB. Yes, I would like quiet, clean, country living. Anyone from that area or would know anything about it? What's it like to live there? Insurance? Taxes? Schools? It's pretty outrageous over here in MS, is it better there? Things you like or dislike about it? Better areas of west Mobile to live in within driving distance of Pascagoula?

Thanks (in advance) for any tips / advice / info you could pass along.

Grand in Grand Bay is on a distinguished road
There are lots of people living in Grand Bay and working in Pascagoula. My only advice is to look for a house on the North side of I-10. After hurricane Katrina insurance almost tripled for the South side, our insurance went from around $900 a year to almost $3,000. Some insurance companies won't even write policies in the 36541 zip code.

My advice is also look at property north of I-10 at the Grand Bay exit. That is a beautiful drive all the way into Airport Blvd. Beautiful land with pecan trees, very pastoral. I love that subdivision that is pretty far up called "The Lakes". And another one called "Bell Creek Farms", I think. I'm sure there are many more areas now; it's been a while since I have driven that way.

I have to agree with the request of moving above I-10, but there are some nice homes south of I-10, and I have heard the insurance rates have came down. If you dont mind west mobile it is still only a short distance to Hurley Ms. Area.
