I wouldn't really call it redneck, but of course I live in Grand Bay, but it isn't an area known for its housing. It's more of a retail/business area. There are several areas closer to Mobile but only a very short distance from Tillman's Corner that might be better.

How is Grand Bay? I would be working at one of the shipyards. Would these be convenient enough to commute? I have a friend who is in West Mobile (Dawes) and said that was an easy commute, no more than 30 minutes

Grand Bay is wonderful, nice and quiet. It takes me about 30-40 minutes in the morning with traffic to take my son to school in Mobile but only takes me 20 minutes to pick him up in the late afternoon. If you are commuting to Pascagoula I would say Grand Bay is your best bet, we are closer to Mississippi than to Mobile. If you will be more in the downtown area, like at Bender, it's a straight shot on the interstate. (It's probably about 25 miles)

Run, don't walk... TC is awful. Redneck, PWT all over the place. Fairly violent too. Yuck. The local Wal-Mart is like watching Deliverance II.

Yeah it`s sort of redneckish but it`s not that bad. It would be an ok move to TC ,but I would recommend the Knollwood area or an area off of Demotropolis Rd, which is very close to the TC area.
