Can anyone in Chickasaw tell me about the metal shredder scrapyards there? I would like comments about what it is really like to live and work nest to one of these monsters. They are trying to put a shredder in my town and making it sound like "God's Gift." They are trying to tell the city we need this because it brings jobs- only 43. I can't imagine a good-paying, clean, enclosed industry wanting to build next to a junkyard. Can anyone comment? Is it quiet, clean and useful like they say?

since the junk yard has been here. we put up with the stink, dust ,dirt, unknown leaking chemicals on the road, debri in yard, hwy, driveway. it is a terrible mess . the worst thing is the explosions shakes our house, rattles windows. concussion noise .. not really safe to live here the junk yard is actually located in mobile county. harwood lane is located in chickasaw,Al.the city does a little to protect the citzens every once in awhile they will stop incoming trucks, trailers, etc and cite.. we live a couple hundred feet from this mess and i can tell you you can hear the noise all day long.. hell ..is most likly better.DO not belive what alter tells you it is all a set up our animals run and hide from the loud booms.. gas tanks explodingmost all neighbors are fed up with this mess.
