I would suggest Malbis,Spanish Fort or Loxley. Very close to I-10, and can be at the Battle House in less than 20 minutes. I live in downtown Fairhope and I am never more than 25 minutes from downtown Mobile, unless there is a wreck. Someone who wants quiet, not busy, would love it here.My next door neighbor is a pilot and commutes to Mobile airport, with no problem. They moved here from West Mobile,as it was too busy and congested.

If you are going to be working downtown then I would definitley look in the Saraland area. I work downtown and it takes about 10 minutes to get to the Battlehouse. If you live in Baldwin County you will suffer the consiqunces of terrible traffic traveling across the bay way and God forbid there be an accident in the tunnel.

Junbug - what area did you end up choosing? I am moving this month, and am looking for the same sort of things, so I am just curious.

Does anyone know anything about Stoneridge at Somerby Park? I am curious at to what the neighborhood is like, etc.

I know where Somerby is and I know of a Stonehedge that is near Somerby. It`s on Grelot Rd very nice area to live and if you are talking about Stonehedge well the homes in that subdivision are atleats $ 600,000 and up some I know have to be around the 1 million dollar mark .

The apratments at Somerby are nice and are very new like summer of 08 new. For a single bed rooms it`s like 780 a month. There are other good apartments and subdivisions in that area that are nice and not as expensive.
