Cool Hubby looking at a job in Foley, Al and I need to go to Univ. of S. Alabama in Mobile

I am looking for a safe place to live, not expensive, that will be great commuting for the both of us. We have two element. age children, who love little league sports.
Some say Spanish Fort, some Daphne? Could anyone help? Any advice on communities, schools and how far it is to drive from and to the schools and work??? How is the pay scale, crime, and any extra lil tidbits.

... lol, not quite.

A commute to Foley from Saraland/Satsuma would be hellish. It wouldn't be much better to South Alabama either.

To the OP, I hate to break it to you, but even if you choose to live in the direct middle (Spanish Fort, Daphne, or Downtown Mobile), you will both have an annoying commute. Your husband's would be less annoying though, as his would be more rural. Spanish Fort and Daphne would be your best option. He would have a shorter commute of about 25-30 minutes. Yours would be 45 minutes or maybe a little more than an hour during rush hour on the bayway.
