Now, if you are thinking neighborhood like, there are 3 or four entrances with signs depicting the name of the neighborhood, culdesacs at the end of the streets, and winding roads, it's not that kind of neighborhood.

We are in Evansville. I am very nervous, while he is growing MORE EXCITED at the new opportunity. He has been with GE/Sabic for 20yrs.. He is ready to move on due to the fear and grapevine, they may be closing in the next 2 yrs.

For your childern - Baldwin County across the Mobile river or south down Hwy 225 to the coast - the Stockton, AL area is nice and close enough for your husband to drive.

The advice about Satsuma and Saraland is good advice. Both are close to I65 and so a relatively straight shot to go to TK (30 min.) or down to Mobile (about 20 min. to Airport Blvd. exit (the mall, Sam's Club, Best Buy, etc.). Saraland is building its own school system which most in the community feel will be a good thing. Saraland has a Walmart Superstore and there are a variety of other shopping opportunties in the area. As noted, there are some good subdivisions up Celeste Rd. with the only drawback is that they get you further out away from the highway and that adds time to the commute. There are a couple of nice areas off of Laffite which branches off of Celeste. Looking at a map, you'll see a couple of roads that cross over to highway 43 (to TK) from Celeste Rd. but most of us aspiring to work at TK will probably get on I65 (those roads have lower posted speed limits, are two lane, Alabama police can be quite diligent at times, etc.). Creola wouldn't be high on my list though some love the place. Somewhat long drive into Mobile and it seems we do that quite often to go to the movies, to get hardware (Lowe's or Home Depot). There is limited hardware shopping in Saraland and Satsuma) or to go to Best Buy or Sam's Club. If you want fine dining, that often means a trip to Mobile as well (or across the bay) though you might as well learn to love fried catfish and barbeque like the rest of us and eat at one of the local places.
We love the Daphne, Montrose, and Fairhope area but it's too much of a commute for me. I don't know what job you husband will have but many people will be working 12 hour shifts at TK so it will be get home, get something to eat, get to bed, talk to the kids and wife a bit, and then get back to TK.
Housing prices are below the country average. And remember to buy a nice low maintenance house (brick, vinyl, good sturdy roof). Your husband will thank you later on.

out celeste road is a good choice. If you go a little further down there is a wonderful subdivision called celeste retreats off of Poe Road. Very quiet neighborhood, great for families.
If you move to celeste road you can take either radcliff or ... ( I forgot the other roads name further down with the yellow caution light) ... either road will take you to hwy 43. Close to the mill.
