Moving to Fort Rucker (Dothan, Ozark: military, apartment complex, trip)

I don't want to sound paranoid, but I have a problem when an anonymous poster (fowleri) starts asking a lot of questions about what is going on inside the base at Fort Rucker.

I also find it strange that a guy who works for a big company bidding on jobs (or so he says) has to come on a chat side looking for info about what is happening inside a US military base.

I'm from Coffee County...grew up there 20 miles west of Enterprise. Seen that Boll Weevil plenty...lol...My wife is from Enterprise. Her job is why we are in Mobile now.

I love back home, but I also now have a place in my heart for Mobile. Moved to Mobile in 1999.

I agree and I am not paranoid. I served at Fort Rucker and want to say that perhaps there are things going on there that is not his or anyone else's business during this current atmosphere of radical muslim terrorists and insecure borders.

Or perhaps he is just an over curious newbie. Ya think?????..

I think we should leave it to the government and the employees of the government to worry with. Not for the public.

Another Soon-to-be-at-Rucker person here! I realize this thread is a year or so old, but I wanted to thank everyone for their input to the OP, as I've found it useful even after all this time.

I lived at Rucker for almost two years and now we are going back...we just bought a house in Enterprise.We loved there and we are so happy to go back...small town and friendly people.

Enterprise is really nice. I grew up 30 minutes west of Enterprise. If my mother-in-law was not there, I'd be all for it. LOL

I grew up 30 minutes East of Enterprise - it is a great town. I don't exactly like the sprawl that seems to be happening on the Eastern side of town, but as long as there are people wanting to get in, it will continue.

The new I-10 connection that has been in the works for a number of years makes me a bit nervous though - the lack of interstate connection has allowed the region to develop a unique style untainted by the superhighways. Who knows how much sprawl will occur once a full grade-separated highway puts its roots in the area.
