Check out Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores. And the Wharf at Orange Beach, there's a lot to do there.

I hadn't decided really. I am just thinking about the future when the economy get's better and I can sell my place. I want to travel to all the states I haven't been to that I can get to by car or on a bike.
I just like what I've seen of Alabama on tv so I posted here to see what kind of response I'd get.

As for cities, I'd check out Birmingham, Huntsville, and Mobile (of course, with Mobile being my favorite, but I am biased). I would also tour both Auburn's and Alabama's campuses and perhaps catch a game if possible. I personally am not good at recommending "touristy" stuff though. But i would defintely recommend spending a day or two in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area.

I love the beautiful old houses on Gov't street and in other parts of Mobile. If you like history Mobile is a great place to visit.
You can take the ferry from Ft Morgan to Ft Gaines, the forts are across the bay from each other.
Mobile is the only place in the US that has Jubilees.. where the fish, shrimp and crabs beach themselves during the summer. Something I have never seen but if you are lucky enough to live on the beach, ppl start yelling 'Jubilee'
The City of Daphne, Alabama, the Jubilee City. About the Jubilee phenomenon.
The other thing not to miss is the seafood. Mobile has the best seafood.
