Question, we were just down in Mobile last weekend, went to Rooms To Go to look at furniture for our new house in Loxley. What's the deal with those access roads off Airport Blvd. and what are the rules for turning in and out. Never seen anything like that before, seen some weird stuff in New Jersey years ago, but that stuff down there in Mobile scared the ...... out of me.

There are no rules, just stomp it when you see a gap.
The most aggravating area is in front of Barnes & Noble, there are no clear road markings or signs where the service rd, airport blvd, and the parking lot entrance merge together. Nobody seems to know what to do at that spot.

They need to take out the median on the sides, use one of the lanes on each side of the road as an extra lane for traffic and use that other lane for turning in and coming out of shopping centers etc. I'm not an engineer , but I do have a degree from " The School of Common Sense".

Being serious, I actually grew quite fond of the Airport Blvd. service roads west of I-65 when living in Pine Bend off Montlimar/Downtowner. Once you get the hang of it, it's not that bad. I did typically avoid rush hour though. Of course, the mess at the Springdale Mall entrance east of I-65 is just nuts developmentally speaking ... rush hour or not.

That system would be great if everybody knew exactly where they were going and everbody used their turn signals. I can imagine there's a lot of rear end collisions from people making quick turns. I'll really have to have my game face on when I go shopping in that area. Once again glad I've got a Ram instead of one of those little smart cars. Scary !
