"Is the trip worth it or not?" Brad, it depends on what you want and how far the trip is. For me, that trip would require 1,000 miles - each way. What would it be for you? And how badly do you want to clarify your position? You're the only one who can answer that, my friend.

Oh, I want it bad. It's only a three hour drive for me. I'm just worried that if I drive down there no one from TK will talk to me.

You will never get in the gate if you just show up. I would just keep trying to talk to someone at AIDT and TK. It is worth it.

GOOD THINGS FOR THOSE WHO WAIT!!
I just got back from my AIDT training and while there, a TK rep told us that they had just hired a new batch of people. She also said that many of them had their application in since 2008!! So hang in there.

Good news for sure.So you needed to go to AIDT training after all?It sounds like they are doing things different now.I didn't have my interview with TK til after the training. All the interviews were with AIDT before the training.

Yes. They have changed it. Once you make application online, the first thing is to go to aidt, take a small psyche exam and then the interview with the steel and stainless reps. If you do not pass this, then you go no further. The second phase is to be invited for "training". Since I am going for maintenance, the first day was the hands on test and the computer exam test. The second day was the "training" out of the book. If your scores are good enough, then TK will contact you eventually. If not you're out. Now I am waiting and hoping for the panel interview.

I forgot to tell everyone. They said several times that if you have not received a dismissal letter then you are still in the running. No news is good news (their words).

Another thing. While there, the instructor talked about a vast reduction of trainers and other aidt personell. He also said that their original contract was for two years and it has been three now. From the way he was talking, it sounded like aidt was getting ready to pack up and go fairly soon. If you know anyone that is interested in TK, it might be a good idea to get in the program quickly before they leave for good.
