I've had my final interview with TK, which was in late August. I was told a couple of days ago that I would either be scheduled for another interview or a phone call regarding direct hire, basically just playing the waiting game right now until I get that important phone call.

When did you begin the process? My husband went to a career fair at the end of sept. and had his first interview there. They called him to set up the 2-day training and the third day would be another interview. Is this a normal? I thought they had several interviews?
Thanks

That's normal. Thyssenkrupp has a interview process that's out of this world strict. you can expect a drug test in the mix as he completes his process. they don't play.

Today I finished my 2 day AIDT training and recieved my certificate. I signed up on April of 2010. Be patient!
The representives from both cold roll and stainless gave a presentation and told us what to expect from this day forward. They told us about their benefits, pay, vacation time and other goodies they provide to team members.
I am fortunate.I am working full time and have an employer that supports someone trying to better themselves.
The 2 training was actually 2 days of testing. They want to see if you pay attention to what they go over in class. I feel great after it was all said and done.
I am either waiting now on a phone call for an interview or the dreaded letter of rejection, either way I tried my best.
I was also told today that a new department will be up and running in january and a building is under constuction and that will house new departments that will be operational in 2013. Over 500 team members will be hired by then.

This is a very interesting thread. I ride in a ThyssenKrupp elevator every day, and I always think of the people in this thread trying to get jobs at this plant. I don't know why the company had to make the job process so ridiculously complicated and drawn out.

Anyway, I hope some of the people in this thread got the jobs they wanted!
