Tillmans Corner
My husband as just accepted a job in Tillmans Corner. We were in Alabama this summer looking at the Fair Hope, Bay Minette are, but never went to Tillmans Corner. I found posts on here stating how bad it was. I get that everyone has their own opinions and it depends on what part of town etc...but I need some honest thoughts and opinions on the area. Please and thank you!!

Look at the neighborhoods off of Rangeline Rd. in Theodore, I know the area around Rabbit Creek Ct is pretty good because a friend of mine lives there. There's also a subdivision in that area that is very nice called 'Todd Acres'.
I tried to post a link to Streetview but it won't work.

Thanks southernnaturelover I really appreciate the input. Luckily or unluckily not sure which we have to sell our home in Indiana so my husband will be going down first and that will give us some time to look around. Does your friend like it? Is it family friendly?

Don't get the wrong impression. Tillman's Corner is not "bad" or "dangerous". Mobile folks just like to make fun of it because of how redneck and uh, white-trash (for lack of a better, more respectful term) it can be at times.

The area I mentioned around Rabbit Creek is not "white trash", just typical middle class brick homes. It's nice and quiet so I don't see why it wouldn't be family friendly.
Go to Google Streetview and type in "Henning Dr 36582" and you can see the area.

You don't have to live in Tillman's Corner, it's right near the interstate and commuting there would be fairly easy. I personally wouldn't live there but maybe you can find a gem in the area.

We are just looking in that area because of my husband's job. Where would you suggest?

Knollwood Dr
Girby Rd
Hillcrest Rd (south of Grelot Rd)
Sollie Rd
Cody Rd (south of Grelot)
Schillinger Rd South
^Check all of these areas, there are lots of newer subdivisions.
I used to live right off of Hillcrest and I loved it there.

True, and many of these same folks would rather live near ghetto slums only a few blocks away. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
