I don't know. I could be wrong, and I'm not saying I for sure have the solution or anything.
It just seems like, as mentioned, the high school drop out rate is too high. If we could offer some of these kids an abbreviated education with a guaranteed job training for a life-long career, that sounds good to me. A lot of these kids probably aren't going to soak up all the minute details that some teachers seem to love so much anyway. We just no question keep the necessities and give the basics. Or maybe simply add job training to the normal adgenda. Maybe have a boarding school that eaither teaches through all 12 grades with job training, or have one that knocks off a year or two of superfluous info. Just ideas. Nonetheless, I do think something needs to change, some way, some how.
But, of course, I might be slightly biased due to the stress of taking accelerated/ honors/ Advanced Placement in high school. Some professors just love the idea of unnecessarily copious amounts of work and live for little tiny details. There is only so much one can do, and everybody has a different amount of capability (and for different things, whether that be English, Math, or fixing cars).

What is wrong steering the ones who do not desire to be professionals in the right direction in a trade-school? Is that not better than letting them bring us all down by just letting them go? Our economy depends on both manual labor and professional labor (both of which can be trained). I say let's stop pretending that all kids want to grow up to be doctors/lawyers/professionals. They all don't need to be anyway. A mechanic, electrician, etc are all-american jobs too.

The real meaning of "profession" is a body that lives by its own rules and code of ethics that is Medicine, Law and established Clergy.
To call every buisness person etc with some sort of degree from some sort od college a professional is in itself an example of dumbing down.
Any body in any job should understand history,REAL history not some brainwash job, they can not make any kind of reasonable choice at the ballot box otherwise.

1. I guess I am dumbed down. I consider myself a professional, but perhaps we share different connotations of the same word.
2. Can one not understand "real history" and work one of these professions that you call a "brainwash job"?
3. Which "reasonable choice" would you be referring to at the ballot box? I get the sense that you consider a certain party to be the reasonable choice from that statement, and that anyone who votes for the other party must not understand "real history". Correct me if I am wrong in interpreting it that way.
Mobile counties population is 406 K Oscottscotto. I am aware of per capita and all but the current murder rate is around average considering the fact Mobile county has been slowly growing in population. The 2008 murder rate wasn`t an outlier from the past years at all, Nor is the county murder rate of 65. The 200 K that was mentioned as of Mobile city proper is actually over 250 K. Beacuse unincorporated areas such as Semmes, Tanner Williams,Tillmans Corner, and parts of Theodre are all included in Mobiles police jusrisdiction.
Mobile is a safe city and most of the occuring crime happens in the same isolated areas with people they know. It all evolves around drugs it`s not random it`s ether retaliation or someone cheated the big guy out of drug profits.
Yes that must be it.

O_o I'm starting to wonder here. I'm only moving to Mobile(tentatively) to attend USA. However, I don't want to be on my guard at every second if this is the case here.

I don't know what else to say except that I wouldn't be too concerned. I was just in town this weekend, and would not be concerned in any area of town that I would not have been concerned about years ago (those concerning areas being north/south of Midtown east of I-65). With that being said, the rising crime rate is still a huge issue that Mobile has to work on.

I agree, I guess you are/do but feel free to revise history as you will.
Personally I would not vote for either of the 2 "parties" but you are free to vote for the republic wing of the wall st. party as always.

If there were a truly progressive party, I would vote for it. Until then, have to put up with Democrats.
Not sure I'm getting what you are trying to get across in the first statement. If you are speaking of our disagreement on the connotative meaning of "profession", it's not that big of a deal - you have your meaning and I have mine. If you mean to imply you are king of evolution and the rest like me are dumb, that is fine too.
