You could also try getting a job at South Baldwin Medical Center in Foley.

If you were to live in Elberta or Lillian you could work at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola without too bad of a commute.

MobileToOB is on a distinguished road
The shortest way to Mobile from Orange Beach I have found it to take Hwy 32 to Hwy 181 and then get on the interstate. Yes, the shrimp festival definitely makes a difference! lol I think the drive from the beach -- Gulf Shores / Orange beach area is too far for a commute. However, there are a few who do it.

USA is located in a safe area... but also can be pricey, Spring Hill. I think there are some nice sections off of Hillcrest... west Mobile. There's also some nice places in Baldwin County -- Fairhope, Daphne, Spanish Fort.

I lived in Mobile for 30 years before moving to Orange Beach and I would not buy a house just to be near USA b/c the child will be gone in 4 years. If I were you I'd look around at where you want to live and maybe that means the child lives in the dorms at USA. There are hospitals in Fairhope, Pensacola, etc. Good luck!
