Can you all stand one more"I am moving to L.A. "thread?
The state line does say Alabama the beautiful!! OK long story short, needing info in the Mobile area.
Any experienced nurses out there, real scoop on the hospitals. They look good on their report cards..but u know what I need . Was wondering was there a shorter way from Gulf Shores to Mobile? I was there for Shrimp Fest and wondered if the traffic was the cause of the 75 minute ride to USA of if thats it? Is living in Foley/Gulf Shores and working in Mobile doable? As a Nurse it would not have to be a daily commute.
Would also consider Mobile with a decent commute to USA and a shorter ride to the beach oh and easy access to I 10..too much to ask? I have been reading you guys threads, you have much knowledge.
I am a hmm mature? adult with a USA student and need an area safe for a single female with 2 not so good guard dogs.Would love to buy in an acceptable area. I am a realist so tell it like it is ! Thanks , can't wait to see what you have!

You know, when a guy up in Pittsburgh told me he went to LA, I had no idea what the hell he was talking about.

If you want to live in Mobile I would recommend either Mobile Infirmary (midtown neighborhoods) and Providence Hospital ( West Mobile Neighborhoods). Providence is close to USA .
No I`m sorry there is no shorter way from Gulf Shores to Mobile. Traffick can be a factor for the commute but it is a distance away.
Living in Foley and working in Mobile is doable you will just have to plan ahead but It will git old believe me.
If you want to live on the Eastern Shore and not Mobile I would recommend Daphne it is a lot closer.

I wouldn't want to do it. There are too many stoplights in Loxley, Robertsdale, Summerdale, and Foley. I suppose the Foley Beach Express could be of some help if you lived in Orange Beach, but not much. Even if you traveled hwy 98 through Daphne and Fairhope you would have the same problem.
You might consider living in Loxley which is a short jump to I-10, it would be "midways" between Mobile and Gulf Shores .

Would not live in Gulf Shores and work in Mobile ... unless you just like insanely long commutes. However, you could live on the Eastern Shore (Daphne, Spanish Fort, or Malbis) and not have too bad a commute to Mobile Infirmary. My dad has done that for years as he works at the Infirmary. That would put you 30 minutes away from Gulf Shores and 15-20 minutes away from downtown Mobile (Mobile Infirmary is near downtown off Spring Hill Ave.)

I live in Loxley, pretty close to Robertsdale and it only takes about 5 minutes to get on I-10, so the Mobile trip is simple, also the advantage of Loxley over Foley and Gulf Shores is the insurance prices are reasonable. When I go fishing it only takes me about 35 minutes to get to Gulf Shores from my house in Lakeland Subdivision in Loxley.

Thanks you all!! Have marked all this on my map and now I am back to plotting!! I am excited. My searches have not shown anything on th Infirmary and I just ran across a hospital in Fairhope? Any thoughts about Fairhope? The whole Insurance thing is complicated so I am reading thru the threads trying to mark out on the map where it is reasonable.Am planning a visit in February.
