Desotos in Gulf Shores is good. I like the Original Oyster House in Gulf Shores too. My husband says OOH is too touristy though.

Yeah, Rochelle's isn't too bad. For seafood, I think my favorites are Felix's and Ed's. Wintzell's for gumbo and oysters.

P.S. The latest rumor is that Acme oyster house is coming to Mobile. Don't tell anyone though.

I used to eat at Banana Docks fairly often when I lived on Hillcrest Rd., I'm not sure if they have gumbo but they have some great shrimp poboys. Another one of my favorites is The Original Oyster House on the causeway.

What was the seafood place called on Azalea Rd (maybe still is)? It was on the right headed south from Airport. They catered an event that I attended several years ago, the food tasted good but I got sick as a dog from it.
The place on Azalea Rd was Catalina. The last time I drove by there it was closed. I don't know how it stayed open so long. It was good, but everytime I went there, there was hardly anyone there. It was there for years and had good food. The original Catalina was in Bayou La Batre, but I don't know if it still is. It is a shame that as a city by the bay, there are now outstanding seafood restaurants. I got to this page trying to find one I haven't been to and have not been able to.

Felix's is very good. Especially the turtle soup. Cosmo's in Orange Beach has fantastic gumbo.

Behind the Pines way, out Ft. Morgan Road has the best blackened seafood around, IMO. Try it either as a dinner or in the tacos. Also, the Shrimp Basket (I've only been to the Foley and Orange Beach locations) does grilled and blackened fish good.

For awesome seafood, try Drago's in New Orleans (Metairie). The charcoal broiled oysters are to die for...and the most perfectly fried soft shell crab is what I'd want to eat often. I wish we had them in Baldwin county...
