Smile Job Info.

Greetings to all,

I was wondering if there are any machine shops in Butte, we hope to move by the end of summer and my husband is a machinist by trade but is currently working at a specialty gas company and will need to find work. Any information would be appreciated.

I think there are five machine shops in Butte. I think one is a precision close tolerance job shop and the rest either center on hydraulics and machining for farm and construction equipment or automotive machining. I don't think there are any that are very large with rows of cnc lathes and mills. I think he will have no trouble getting a job especially if he can set up, and program cnc machines and or do tooling and r&d work on manuals. If he just changes parts and pushes the start button he may have to wait for an opening somewhere but a highly skilled and versatile machinist will get to work right away I'm sure.

Suggestions. Try www.jobs.mt.gov for the state job service. Also try the local newspapers. Really doubt he will have trouble finding a job, but I would try to line something up before you move.
