This is very disturbing. I would take my child out of school before I allowed this to happen.

If they plan to begin this, this year parents should keep their kids out until the school reconsiders. If there are no kids to teach, they just might get the message.

Is nothing up to the parent anymore? We are getting closer and closer to our only purpose being to produce the children. The government is taking over the raising. Thanks dems.

ummm so ya think the kids are gonna get lessons on the "how to of doing IT" .. come on kids are pretty easy about learning new stuff .. that some folks are "diffrent " is a must these days .. doesnt mean the kid will be that way just by learning about it ..

We sure wouldn't want our kids to know what is going on out in the wide world, would we? Next they'll want to teach kids that there are some people who do not belive in God, and some who think socialism is OK, and some who eat horses and dogs and bugs and cheese that smells bad.

Well, I suppose you're right, it's better kids are educated like China or North Korea where the government controls exactly what the children learn and the parents dutifully send their offspring into their grasp every single day.

Soon there will be no free will or decisions for parents to make, the government will be taking care of all that.

It's far better that the government does the brainwashing.

You don't get it, do you? It's YOU who wants the kids to be spoonfed the orthodoxy of a controlled curriculum, with no allowance for any deviation from what YOU think is the norm. Like China or North Korea.

If the government teaches both A and B, and you want them to teach only A, how is the government getting in the way of free will? Explanation, please.

I skipped directly to page 45. What, exactly is so upsetting to you? I think the lessons seem age appropriate and not too far from what was being taught when I was in school. I don't see what the big deal is. It is stuff that kids would be talking about on the playground anyway. I'd rather my kids get FACTS from a teacher than the crap their friends would be telling them, or what they would pick up on TV. The only thing I even see about homosexuality is that some people are attracted to people of the same sex (grade 5). That is a FACT and one that can not be hidden from kids.

It isn't brainwashing to let kids know that gay people exist. It is the truth. No amount of wishing will make them go away. There was a very obviously gay kid in my 5th grade class. I think we could have benefited from getting some factual info rather than snickering about him on the playground.

I am not against your post, just letting you know that the reason why I don't have hate for people different from me was because I wasn't taught to have hate at home. I know, that is what the school are trying to teach. However, I didn't need facts.
