Is it rather expensive to live in Bozeman?

Land price and housing vs. wages.

I am a nurse, and worked outside Billings, in a hospital setting. My yearly update in Newborn ICU was in Billings. Most critical went to Denver. We sent our kids to either St. Lake, or Denver, depending on who had room. Denver is preferred for most situations, but if you are doing management, St. Lake may be ok.

OOPS! I forgot to say how nice Bozeman is! It is a wonerful collage town with lots of things to do. You must like the outdoors- that is where you will find the most. Depending on what your area is for jobs, there are not many to choose from. You really need to already have a job lined up. I think you will living expenses better, or about the same as CA. let me know if I can help.

Children's in Denver is in the top ten in the Nation is what I have read recently. We are currently going to CHOC in Orange County (Southern Cal) for all of our specialist.

Bozeman is a great town but growing faster than I think it can handle. It is a college town and there are lots of things to do associated with the Univ. There are also lots of kit oriented activites and there is a great winter fair for the kids when evreyone is sick of winter. There is good skiing nearby and great fishing, hiking, biking etc. It is expensive by the rest of Montana standards and there is pretty much no such thing as a house with land in Bozeman at this point. If you want land you need to move out of town about 50 miles or so to find something more affordable. Of course if you are selling something in CA you should be able to afford most anything you want here in SW MT. Just keep in mind Montana wages are the lowest in the nation. The minimum wage here is still only $5.15 an hour.
