Hi to anyone that will reply, I'm trying to talk my husband into moving from Missouri to the Ruby Valley. Of course he's the voice of reason but It's a dream I've always had and from what weve read the fishing, hunting and such are perfect for what were looking for. Any suggestions on a place to live and jobs ets...

sidney?! from philly?! good luck to you dani, i will not reiterate what everyone else has said, except for stressing the cold and wide openness of the area. no night life except for a bar or two.

jeanie, the ruby valley is beautiful. once again, i have to ask, why? it is a touristy with older folk looking to see the ghost towns, and folks of all ages looking for fishing. it is out there, and i think you would have to consider virginia city your base if you are looking for a job. virginia city is not really a ghost town. it is actually on the rise, and i have heard of a few condos being put in down there. what are you looking for? here is a picture from the valley. midas mill is just north east of the area west of norris. the rest are in between virginia and nevada city.
