Can anyone tell me how available jobs are for plentywood and the surrounding area? I know the best option is to "bring your own". I'm looking at a house to buy, and am stuck at how far we would have to drive for work. I've been to Billings, but not plentywood. I'm planning a trip up but would like to have a coushin($$) if i get caught in snow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think we have anybody that lives in that immediate area. Give it a few days as there may be some folks that travel that area and can give some insight.

I travel in the medical field so I am not directly in that area but in EM distance that is long is really short in folks talking.

My husband is a truck driver and a mechanic (though not officially trained mechanic). i've done just about everything from factory work to nursing homes. Thanks Mt.

Cost of living is reasonable, but it this oil work continues in ND and it advances here things will change.
I worked with some ND gals last month and they say McD's is paying 15 an hour just because everyone has gone to work in the oil fields, of course the cost of living has risen to meet that salary.

I'm not from Plentywood (I'm from the Circle area), but my boyfriend is from Scobey, and you're right, that you pretty much bring your own work. Most of our area is farming/ranching, but I'm sure nursing homes or hospitals are always on the lookout for good, hard-working individuals. Good luck!
