I know that in my traveling over here that I have often thought about the wagon trains and the folks who left it all behind and just how long it took them to get from one place to another. I zip along in 8 hours what would have taken them months. Incredible.

Grill is going with the absolute last of the venison, making kabobs.

Coffee's on!

I said that 30 miles is only two days travel, by sheep wagon. That's not true. Today, going down the road, be it gravel or paved, it's 2 days travel. But the days of yesteryear, crossing creeks, rivers, going around hills, scouting fuel for evening fire, watching for ndn's, might have taken a week. But today, rubber tires, shawed horses with cleats, 2 short days, one long day.

It's kind of funny. Yesterday hit 60 so I shut off the furnace and opened the door. Kind of air out the cabin. Forgot to turn the furnace back on. This morning it ws 30 degrees outside and 57 degrees inside. Boy did I sleep good. hahahaha However, shower time was really quick. And no, I haven't turned the furnace back on.

Coffee's on.

Yesterday, I caught a chill and never could warm up. It was spitting rain, windy, all day. Today is a new day. It's 23 degrees outside (I have to specify now that I'm shutting off the furnace that it's outside or inside temp cause they can be close). Zero wind this morning. We're supposed to hit upper 60's today. Almost thinking about wearing shorts. haha

Expected highs:

Billings - 70F, clear skys, wind 10-20

Glasgow - 70F, partly cloudy, wind 10-15

Helena - 65F, partly cloudy with chance of rain, wind 5-15 gusts to 30

Butte - 55F, partly cloudy, wind 15

Elk! You broke winter!

Here's a little something for the folks who got a wee bit more water than usual this year...

Morning all!
Is it me or is there just more news about the Mississippi and the rising water? I wonder if it is because I live on this side of the Rockies now?
We are breezy and blue skies
Now where is the fishing gear?

I keep seeing plants too and slap my fingers to wake up to reality.
I do have crocus and tulips coming up and blooming
If only this damn wind would calm down, my migraines are no fun

Default Wholesale gasoline prices declined 23/gallon today

Wholesale gasoline prices have declined about 30/gallon since Friday's closing trade, and, at today's close were $3.10 a gallon.

Retail gasoline prices tend to be at a $0.75 to $1.25/gallon premium to the wholesale gasoline price as traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange, which would mean that a wholesale price of $3.10/gallon would indicate a retail price of $3.85 to $4.35/gallon, depending on where in the U.S. the retail pump might be located.

Anyone can easily monitor the gasoline futures prices on the New York Mercantile Exchange (because these prices are available at no charge, they come with a 30-minute delay) by going to Gasoline futures prices.
