I have a user in the Wyoming Forum that is very informed and always helpful. He posted a link that I find absolutely facinating. Now we know where people are migrating from and to. You can click on the county of choice and it shows trails of what state they moved from, or where Montanians moved to. I think it's outstanding.

Now, there is proof positive if you are being over run by what state and where in that state. I think there are some surprises in store.

Hopefully they'll update it again soon. There seems to be a lot of migration inside of Montana, East to West.

Also, it seems like almost every line out of Detroit is red.

Default First Snow

Last year, it didn't snow in Helena until around mid-November, but I have a feeling we'll get it by mid October this year.

What say all of you?

Weather already broke here... coldest (and shortest, and most humid, and least windy) summer on record. We never got above 110F (and rarely above 100F) which is astounding for the SoCal desert; we're a good 10-15 degrees below normal. Still getting to 100F days but cooling more sharply at night all of a sudden, you can tell the difference. Yeah, I think we're in for another 1960s winter -- early, often, and long. Global warming, ya know.

The VA and beautiful entitlements.

I called the TLC line when I was hurting. They said, "Because of the severity, go straight to Memorial Hospital, you are covered." I did so. They, at Memorial, told me to set up a consult with the Surgeon. I did. They also prescribed antibiotics. They faxed the prescription to the VA.

I called the VA to give them a heads up and was told, "We don't honor prescriptions from Memorial." So I needed to set up an appointment to have my Dr at the VA, write the prescription. Earliest appointment I could get is 3 weeks out. So no antibiotics for 3 weeks.

I told them I set up the consult with a surgeon. VA said, "We have to set it up or we won't pay for it." I thought it was all under the first deal where the VA told me to seek care at Memorial, but NO. So I cancelled the app at Surgical. In 3 weeks, when I see my Dr, he will determine if I need a consult or not. If I do, then he has to submit it to a review panel and sometimes it takes the review panel 3--4 months to review it and make a decision.

I explained to them I have a tube running out of me for a drain and that right now, it's plugged and I'm building up pressure. No matter. I told them I would probably be hospitalized in another day or two due to the pressure so they can clean the drain, or install another one. No matter.

So, as soon as I finish typing this, I have to go into Physical Therapy. When I'm done at PT, I'm going straight over to the Medical Unit and I'm going to get up close and personal with my doctor, or if need be, the Administrator for the VA. I'll either be seen today, or I'll go to jail. It's their choice.

Ain't Veteran Benefits just great!!!!!

A couple years ago I attended a botanical garden conference. One of the plenary speakers was a climate change expert. He showed a map of North America. The was one area that was not going to be warmer. It was going to be cooler.... Guess what.. It was northern Montana!

Sorry you have to go through all this, EH. Hope today will be a better day. And thanks for posting that fun map! I spent way too much time clicking on counties last night...

Don't know all the parameters of this but I just saw this story is on the TV website in Helena.
VA program helping MT veterans get care closer to home | KXLH.com | Helena, Montana

May wish to check this out Elkhunter as it may have some bearing on your situation.

I will see if I can find out anything more about it.
