WOW!!! It sure is purdy up here.
Well we're happy that you and Bruno arrived finally and safely. The story of the trip here reminds me why I no longer enjoy flying.

But all is well that ends well - so - Welcome Home.

Great pictures, too.

Thank you for sharing your adventure of getting to Montana.

I guess I'd better update.

The cast was a great success in that it healed the wound concerned.

However, I have a great deal more problems that have cropped up. Cast healed, new problem.

When they took the cast off, half my big toe went with the cast.. Seems there was a agressive infection that cropped up in the last 9 days and some decisions have to be made.

So, until we have better days. I will be around, although some limitations exist.

Hey, I can supply pictures to those really sic minds.

Good Morning!
Just about 6:15 AM here in Libby and I'm awake bcuz Bruno and neighbors dog were having a barking contest. LOL.. The other dog won.. becuz I went out there and popped Bruno on his nose!
They were barking at deer and I do NOT want Bruno barking at deer. NO! NO! NO!
He was a bad boy yesterday.. I had cleaned up mom's back porch and stacked some old throw rugs and a couple of rolled up coleman airbeds on top his kennel. I heard him growling and barking "playfully" so I went to see. Yup.. he done drug the stuff off the kennel, off the porch, and into the yard. Chewed holes in one of the coleman air mattresses. I'm like great! now I gotta buy mom another one when I get the money. I call mom outside and showed it her and apologized for it. I promised to buy her a new one when i get a job and she says.. dont worry about it. Looks like I wont be patching that one. LOLOL
I got a few pics and a little video up on facebook if ya'll are interested. (same name as here).
The deer are sooo pretty.

ElkHunter.. so sorry about your toe. Hope everything else gets much better and I wish you a speedy recovery. Don't worry part of that toe missing just means you have more room to put the rest of your foot up someone's butt when ya get mad at ém.

Hoping everyone has a great day.

They put the cast on, my foot was fine except a little wound. 9 days later they took the cast off and I have a serious infection in a different location then what the original wound was. This is very aggressive.

So I called a lawyer this morning to see about sueing the VA. After hearing what happened he said I'd better hurry or I wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

Sorry. A little Friday morning humor.

Speed at which they move. Hmmmm. Remember I am dealing with the VA.

I started calling today. I didn't appreciate voice mail. I called the Podiatist and got voice mail. Left a message. I then called the PT clinic. Got voice mail. I told them in voice mail, I was told and Emergent consult, but after 2 days, I haven't heard anything, is there anything I can do?

That was at 10am. At noon I called again. Actually talked to a person and told her that I was given "Urgent Consult" and would like to know about an appointment. She didn't know, but would let Lisa know my conerns. 5 minutes later, Lisa called and said, "Whoops, sorry, forgot to put it in.". I told her, "Hey, I have a very aggresive thing going on here." She said that she would make some calls. Today is Friday. Nothing has happened.

So, about now, I am getting pissed. It's my foot. I'm getting ready to loose it. So I call the director. (Personal friend). She is pissed and she makes some calls. Immediately, a schdular calls and says, "We can get you an appointment on Friday. How's that?" And then, the appointment is with the wound clinic, not the podiatrist. I said, "What? I have an agressive infection that is taking my foot away and you tell me there is an appointment, with a nurse, 8 days away? Are you completely devoid of reason? I need an appointment now. I explained the situation and she was totally oblivious of what was going on. She said that Friday was the only appointment available and it would be with the wound clinic, not the podiatrist. By now, I was steaming.

I now have a foot that is going to rot and fall off in the next 10 days and the VA says, "We don't have an appointment until Friday, is that ok?"

I'm sorry. This is a rant and I probably shouldn't be talking about it.

I served in Viet Nam. I served in Lybia, Iran, Iraq, Quate, Panama, Granada, South America, Iran again, and then Desert storm. For this sacrifice, I get to watch my foot drop off because a bunch of administrators don't think things are serious. That, in it's relm, is ok. I don't expect people to understand all the voids I have experienced. However, I do expect one department to notify another department about a problem. Seems they can't handle that simple task.

Again, I am sorry for the rant. Just seems that health care should be better.

Geesh EH.. maybe u should go ahead and start putting that foot up their butts NOW. Go down there and stick in their faces and say "take a look! take a good look!!! and a good whiff while ya at it!"
It's a darn shame that the men and women that sacrifice so much of their lives and time for America can't even get decent health care. It is down right disgraceful the way our veterans are treated.
I am so sorry you have to go through so much crap. Wish there was something I could do to make it better. Honey you can rant all you want to. You deserve it!!
Bless you and I hope things get better for you FAST!!
Big hugs.

The VA is a classic example of socialized medicine.

Well, we went out to dinner tonight, at 8pm, expecting a leisurely dinner. Ha ha! We got our drinks, appetizers, just relaxing, main course at 8:40, a bit rushed, but okay, it was at that time that I realized the restaurant was almost empty, and the staff was cleaning up. At 8:40? On a Friday night?

Interesting. Dinner over by 9, on Friday night. Okay. Sometimes people just don't realize the small things about adjusting to moving to Montana. No big deal, we are learning.
