Woke up this morning to a cold nose... Dog wanted out so he decided to stick his nose under my arm pit. LOL
Also woke up with throbbing face pain and stuffy nose. Sinuses giving me fits. Think I'll try to use a sinus flush and see if that helps. If it hurts this bad.. I dont wanna see what happens when the pollen starts up.
Feels like I have been kicked in the face by a mule. Mom took one look at me and said.... "here. take one of my pain pills." She knew I was in pain. I took 1/2 with a cup of coffee and a sliceof bread.
Anyone got any dynamite??? maybe if I stick it up my nose and light the fuse... think it would help?

Omelette and coffee does sound yummy.

We spent 400 dollars (360. of that was food stamps.. and I aint ashamed to say cause my mom worked her butt off for over 40 yrs and now she deserves all the help she can get)... dang nabbit.. forgot to buy bear food!! LOL
They have some good deals on meat there. I told Mom .. I know where to go to buy meats at from now on. Freezer stocked and cabinets stocked.
I liked Troy... not much there but the people were friendly. I saw on one realty site that there was a place there.. 25K for 1.9 acres. OMGsh.. I told hubby if I had money I'd buy it. So he better win lottery. LOL
The home health agency.. thingy... returned mom's call yesterday morning also. She wants to see if she can put me on as her caretaker. If she qualifies then I have to go sign up at a health care agency. No problem, I can do that.
Mom does need the help... thats why I am here... but to hear her tell it "she's not that bad".. BULL@#$!
She cant sweep or vacuum with out getting out of breath and/or light headed, just standing trying to wash dishes and she is in pain b4 the dishes are done (spinal stenosis).. I have noticed her being forgetful and I do remind her to take her meds. She has fallen a couple of times and I dont know what she would have done had I not been here to catch her or help her up.
I do ALL the cooking and major cleaning and yard work... etc. If I wasnt here to cook.. she'd be eating pnut butter and crackers and buying those stupid microwave meals... not healthy at all.
Right before mom moved here she had 2 stents put in her heart. Then not long after she got here she fell and cracked both sides of her pelvis and had to use a walker for a while. She had her 3rd stent put in in Sept 2011. She also has spinal stenosis (upper and lower) with spurs, COPD, diabetes, high blood pressure, and arthritis... so yeah, I'd say she needs the help.
A few times she has forgotten the simplest things, and I have had to remind her to take her meds or to pay a bill. I also need to be there when she showers to be sure she doesnt fall.. or to help her (God forbid) if she does fall.
All of this... and she asks me.. Val.. do you really think I can not live alone??
I'm like No, Mom.. you can not. Even the doc says you do not need to be by yourself.
To look at her, you would think she is fine... but looks can be deceiving. I love my mom dearly and it hurts to see her this way. She worked in health care for years and even she knows the signs... but, just like the people she cared for .. she is in denial of her limitations.
I'm just glad I can be here for her to help her what little bit I can.
Anyway... sorry about the rant.
If you wanna see the pics and video.. you have to go to my facebook page. I got an awesome pic of some deer yesterday afternoon. Just wish I had a better camera with a zoom lens. There were about 10 of them.
Landlady bought a huge wardrobe closet thingy (cause I have no closet in my room) and I am going to try to put it together today. I told her I would do it. The man that delivered it (neighbor) said if I find that it is too much to do.. just give him a call and he'd be right over to help.
So, I got to move the bed and 2 chest of drawers out of my room so I can bring the wardrobe in here and put it together.. then when its done... bring back in the bed and 1 chest of drawers..LOL
Gonna need some strong coffee.
Will talk to ya'll later. Hope you have a great day.

ps... FORGOT to mention.. when mom and I went to doc last week for her checkup.. I weighed myself on the scales there.. I've lost 15pounds!!!!
So, if you find it.. KEEP IT .. do NOT send it back.
****pats self on back****
Ma, you're a wonderful daughter. And congrats on losing 15 pounds! But be careful with all that lifting--you don't need a back injury...

The VA has been remodeling for 2 years now, so the medical unit has been one wing of the Nursing Home.

Well, they finished and I was in the new medical unit. They had a very nice lounge area right across from my room that had free coffee or tea. The coffee was a choice of cafe', regular, and decaf. I took full advantage of the cafinated coffee that was only 30 ft from my bed to coffee machine.

.............Hey you old Goat.................I began to realize last night that something was missing from the MT forum recently

Sorry I didn't know where you were.....................if I had, I would have been "nasty" in some recent posts. .

Hope everything is "lookin' good"....(just like your favorite nurse over there at the Fort.)

" Hang in there 'ole buddy" and don't forget: "Carpe Diem".

Hell, the Tongue River goes through my place. hahahaha

Smaller creeks around here are at, or above capacity. 5 mile is over the banks but not seriously. (5 Mile Creek also goes through the place). But nothing is serious. Some irrigation type warnings where spreaders aren't holding is about all I've seen. We had a good snow yesterday and today it's melting. Plus the snow is starting to melt off the face of the mountains so that creeks like Wolf Creek are at capacity. Further up from me Wolf Creek is over the banks in some areas in pasture low land.

You are right in that I work with NOAA and flood, rain, snow reports come out of my computer every morning at 8am. So flooding alerts, watches, warnings also come out of me. I go out and take pictures, measurements, and such and then send it all off

Right now, I would like to have them post a warning, but there is no such thing for "Mud Warning - a warning is extended for boot sucking mud. Boot sucking mud can be hazardous and people should prepare by binding their swamp boots in some manner to prevent a tragic end."

It was SO warm on Monday...- went outside today without a jacket, just about froze in the shade, the wind has definitely kicked up..."In like a lion, out like a lamb".

There is always some sort of construction project going on at the VA, they get "use or lose" money...
But there are never enough bathrooms...why build a giant hospital with like three restrooms? No doubt because men build them...
