I've always heard that Prayer is not for sale. But it appears that Pray is for sale in the State of Montana. Wasn't there somebody looking recently, for a remote location to live?

My great great and great grandfather both homesteaded near Pray. My father was born on the family homestead near Pray.
One of my cousins still has whats left of my great grandfathers place there, and subdivided it so it has been being sold off bit by bit for years.
My uncle had a very nice little place there, and his granddaughter still owns it last I heard, so I am pretty familier with the metropolis of Pray

Not much there, post office, used to be a bar, a couple of trailer houses and a barn. It may have built up lately as it has been a couple of years since I visited it.

Not exactly cosmopolitan, but it does have nice views of the Absaroka mountains and the Gallatin range. Yellowstone river is just east of town.

It is only a few miles from Emmigrant and Chico, it isn't really "remote", as there is a paved road running through town. It is only about 25 +/- miles from Livingston and about 45 miles +/- from Gardiner.

If you bought the town, you could be Mayor, Chief of Police, Judge, Jury and Executioner all in one!!!

It was on the "National" news this morning that it was up for sale. It mentioned is has a "Dozen or so" residents.

Recently, they sold the town of Buford here in Wyoming. It had 1 resident and was the highest town with post office in the country at just over 8,000 ft. They had an auction and the starting bid was $100k. The auction lasted 11 minutes and the town sold for $1 mil. However, Buford is at the exit on Interstate 80. It has a convienience store that stays busy. It has a couple towers that are leased out to Cell companies (perfect location to have a cell tower, right at the crest of the Mountain along the interstate). It had a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house that was recently renovated. The owner was up in age and wanted to retire. Oh, and it was 10 acres, twice the size of Pray. hahahahaha Buford was a money maker to begin with, but could you imagine putting in about a dozen or so condo cabins and than one lodge and turn it into a hunting lodge for winter time? It had potential. The convienience store also had gas available.

Bacon milkshake? Forget it. Brrr...it is chilly out there! My daughter is now working up at Glacier, they put the workers up in a dorm there. She is loving it. No jobs? I don't know...my kids are all employed. Maybe cause they know their Mama won't support them.

It's chilly down here today. Kind of a drizzle and only 47 degrees. I have to run to town today on my 4 wheeler. I must be nuts.
