Sounds like your daughter really has it together. She learned that from home.

By the way. You can't see Yellowstone and the Tetons from I-25. Those are the Big Horns that are up close and if you do see the Tetons, your eyesight is really good because you are looking almost 200 miles.

Sorry I havent been around.. been too busy doing things around the house. Got the wood moved off the porch and stacked out next to the shed. Got the shed cleaned out and organized as well. Put my cousins stuff in his explorer.. so when he comes here to visit.. he doesnt have to pack it and he doesnt have an excuse to leave it behind. hahah arent I a lil stinker. He just has to get his explorer outta here!
I had the front porch looking all pretty with hanging baskets etc... then the afternoon and evening sun blistered them so I had to move them to the back porch... but I put all the plastic plants on the front porch.. hahahah dont have to water them and dont have to worry about the deer eating them..
SEEE eeeeeeeeee I is a smart cookie! hahahahah

Mowed the grass again today and planted a few flowers. Brushed the dog.. omgsh.. so much dog hair..looked like stuffed animal factory blew up in the yard. Gonna take the dog hair and put it around my rose bushes and in the flower beds at front of trailer...hoping the doggie scent will help to deter the deer.

Got some veggie seeds started and gonna be setting them out in conatiners soon. Wish me luck on that.

Hope everyone is doing well. Catch ya later.

In less than a week, the radishes, lettuce, and peas have sprouted in the container garden. The plastic greenhouse is doing a good job.
In the pot with radish sprouts, you can see the fallen pink petals from a nearby apple tree. The town is perfumed with lilacs and apple blossoms. Abundant flowering trees everywhere you look.

Default Water Bug/EXTREMELY PAINFUL BITE......

My daughter (school teacher) passed the following info along to me...........most applicable to folks that live near water (me on a stream, Elk on a river etc).

Subject: "Lethocerus"...of the "Belostonatidae" Family.........
......The Lethocerus specie is found most notably in MONTANA & FLORIDA!!....and can get up to 4 1/2 inches long

One of daughter's students was recently bitten and thus this info was brought to school by the student (after a visit to the "ER")......and I think it is worth while passing on.

Their bite is considered to be "one of the MOST PAINFUL of ALL insects!!......
However it is NOT poisoneous!.........And they can fly.

I have seen them in the "back-water pools" along the stream bank(s) on my place, never knew what they were and just never paid any attention to them. The "doc" at the ER said their bite "will knock a dog right off his feet" and cause him to scream in pain........he will recover from the bite, but may take a day or two. Water snakes, small Salamanders & small frogs are frequent victims of this Water Bug.............and it is my guess that it is "commonly referred to as a "Water Beetle" by many of us.
So now you know.....................don't pick up or touch!!!

Thanks for the "heads up" on this mutant bug. I will now refuse to go near any water for the rest of the summer.

It's Tuesday. 2 days till T-day. hahaha I have a Doctors appointment and you folks know that I ride my 4 wheeler into town to go to Dr appointments. Well, Friday I have a Dr appointment, and like always, I'll be riding my 4 wheeler. But it's a little different this time. My Dr appointment is in Fort Meade at the VA there. Fort Meade is in Sturgis South Dakota. 240 miles, one way. Should make for an interesting trip on the 4 wheeler. I will take pictures. I'll drive down on Thursday, spend the night, go to Dr appointment at 9:30 and then head for home. I will NOT travel in the dark, too many deer, so if I'm running late, I'll grab a motel room in Gillette and spend the night. Drive the rest of the way on Saturday. It's not like I have a time frame that I have to meet.

I did not want to get up this morning. I finished up on CD just after midnight. Woke up at 5:15 and really debated on whether to get up or not. Finally got up and hit the ON button on the coffee pot. A couple cups later the day looked a whole lot better.

60% chance of rain today, so I guess this is a Movie watching kind of day. Wind is blowing with 35+ gusts.

I set my seedlings out and it rained on them and they got water logged. The drainage holes clogged up. I scooped them out and set them aside in some soild and will have to empty the buckets and add more gravel or cloth so the dirt wont plug the drainage holes.
I was so PO'd and my mom says.."its okay.. we dont need a garden." That made me cry..lol
I sniffled and pouted like a baby and cried and said... We may not NEED a garden... but I WANTED a garden! " Waaaahhhhh
Now I am so disappointed. Plus I never got the amount of materials I needed. People promised me all sorts of things and then never delivered. Figures.
I'll see what I can do this year but I will be saving up for supplies to try to do it better next year.
Meanwhile... I can always feed the humming birds.
