Is the tree an Aspen? I really enjoyed the trees in Montana...Red Lodge area....the cottonwoods were releasing their 'cotton', lots of conifers, just great to be in an entirely different ecosystem!!!

She is hanging in there. The neck surgeries are slow to heal I'm told.
Thanks for asking. I had one surgery so far and It left me messed up to some degree. Google up Hydrocelectomy.
Yikes If I knew how partially disabled this procedure was going to leave me I would have ponied up an extra 6K for the more advanced procedure they use in Canada and Europe.

Yes it is a Quaking Aspen. In this area they are hard to tell from Paper Birch at first glance because the aspens here and a few nearby areas (Arlee) have huge straight very white trunks rather than the greenish squiggly look that Aspens have in so many other places.
The way to really tell for sure is to get a close look at the tree or look at the leaves. The Birch and the Aspens always have very different looking leaves.
There are a lot of place names here like Birch this and Birch that and in most cases all you see are "Birch like" Aspens that the pioneers thought were Birch trees.

Quaking aspens are so pretty - the way their leaves move or 'quake' in the wind.

Not all trips with the team and wagon, are fun.

Today, after cleaning and preparing, the team was used to take a young 15 month old girl from the Home, to her final resting place.

Due to complications of a routine adanoid surgery, this young child succumbed to life. The parents approached us and asked that the girl be delivered, by team and wagon. It was done, with pleasure, and certainly, at no cost.

God Bless EH, I am sure it was a great comfort to the family to see their little angel in such protected transportation. I can not imagine such a thing. Hope the weather wasn't too bad.

Rickers, I almost wished I had not read that animal article. I think they were looking for cash buyers for the offspring.
