Well the local rag says it is +1 in Helena, no wind yet but still snowing.

Supposed to be -20 tonight and a high of -3 tomorrow.

No seal blubber MT-7, but I did have to chase a couple polar bears away from my woodpile this morning. They were trying to start a fire to warm up with I guess

Currently the thermometer reads -10 but I am sure we are well below that with the wind factored in.
I am off work for the week until the eve so I can just kick back and drink that coffee with everyone else. Now we can just pretend we are in the Arctic, hey anyone seen my seal blubber?
Remember, "Wind Chill" is how it "feels on bare skin." So you gots to stop running up and down the county road, nekked.

Here, it's 1 degree with a wind chill of -18. The wind has died down and it's stopped snowing. But I can't see the mountains, 4 miles away, so I suspect it'll be snowing again soonly.

Well let us know how the weather is on Saturday. We'll be driving north on 25 then to 90 (coming from Estes Park, CO).

Been having a great visit with the in-laws this past week. Our Basenji dog went blind on the way down (some freak auto-immune issue) and we've been driving down to Loveland CO to see an eye specialist 3x this past week.. Sucks to be a sight hound and lose your sight. Looks like I'll have to be her sight from now on, lol...

Snowing lightly in Northern CO today. Went snowshoeing yesterday, may go out for a couple miles tomorrow.

Christmas was awesome this year (other than the dog).. The kids got to spend time with Oma for the first time. Makes moving from WV to MT all the worthwhile- 12 hours drive to kin.

I'll post up some shots from me and the wife snowshoeing the other day when I get back home. Strange to call MT 'home', being a West Virginian and all.. I did get a call from my old neighbor in WV today- he's having fits getting my old Farmall A running. The needle valve is stuck and the floats rotted. I think I'm gonna have to go back out to WV and pick that old girl up and bring her home. Me and the blind basenji, lol..

I'm rambling, and I think I'm gonna take a nap

You know, EH, depending upon the runner, I could be in favor of not running up and down the county roads, nekked, even in the warm weather.

We've got about 21" new snow around here, with some drifts in the 3' to 4' range. I'm still digging out the cars and the driveway. Usually the neighbor shows up with his Catepiller Skid-Steer with the bucket on. But he vacations to Las Vegas a couple times each year - one of those visits is about this time. (Dang!)

I'm takin' it slow though. Heavy snow and cold winds can be rough on heart patients.

We would have some 3 ft drifts around here, but I've plowed 4 times today with my 4 wheeler and kept it from building up. Kind of nice, that that I knock loose drifts on East so most of what I've plowed is now clean pavement, or close to it.

This morning the wind died down and it wasn't bad. 1 degree with no wind isn't too uncomfortable. But this after noon the wind come up again and has made it miserable outside. 15 minutes of plowing and then warm up with a cup of coffee. Then do it again. I'm in no hurry, got nothing else to do.

It's 24' with no wind, a little snow and people here are all frekin' out, lol. Jeez, WV winters are worse than this!

Can't wait to get back and feel some winter in my bones!

According to Claire Wolfe's blog at Living Freedom, "I just learned that Aaron Zelman, founder, guiding spirit, and chief cook and bottle washer of JPFO (Jews For The Preservation Of Firearms Ownership), has died."

That is sad news indeed. But he can rest knowing he's done all of us a critically important service.

My plow won't start this morning. Of course, it WOULD require me to go out in the -8 degree temp and actually put the key in it and try.

Coffee's on!

Take it easy EH.
Well it is -18 but at least the wind has died down. Most folks I know will be partying at home.
Happy New Year to all my friends and neighbors on the porch.
