Well now. You do realize that someone had to invent the 'bacon explosion', do you not?

Wonder who that someone may have been. Hmmmmm?

Let me give you a hint: It was not one of our porcine friends.

The Fudge recipe is just a variant of one that uses cream cheese. Velveeta makes a pretty good carrier for the sugar and chocolate, same as cream cheese, since it hasn't got a lot of flavour of its own but has a nice melted texture.

I make a cheesecake that substitutes thick buttermilk for half the cream cheese... did this one day when I didn't have enough cream cheese ... results in a much lighter-textured, mild-flavoured filling. Also has a tendency to not want to set up hard, so you can wind up with custard pie instead. Still good tho!

As to bacon... it's not just for normals anymore!!
Bacon Explosion
Chicken fried bacon
Chocolate-covered bacon
Hey! how about bacon-flavoured fudge??

That just sounds all kinds of wrong. Although I have a trustworthy friend who reluctantly (after his daughter ordered it) tried bacon ice cream and says "the world is a better place because of this stuff.".

I have yet to try it.. I've wrapped all kinds of meat and seafood in bacon, but as a desert dish.... I just can't get my mind wrapped around that.

I accidentally made cheese ice cream. It started life as a microwaved souffle. When I put the leftovers in the fridge, it shrank down to a little puddle... and it was like the best cheese ice cream you ever ate. Now when I make a microwave souffle (which is just the Betty Crocker recipe, cooked in the microwave) I put the whole thing in the fridge cuz what I really want is the cheese ice cream.

So I can totally see bacon ice cream, yeah... think I'll put bacon drippings in the next time I run the ice-cream maker and see what comes out!

Took me a while to try it, but now that I have, I prefer it.

Jalapeno Ice Cream

But then again, every month when I go to town to get grub, I pick up 12 cans (large with onion and carrot) of jalapeno's. And like this month. I'm out and it's only the 21st.
