No, no restrictions on diet. But they put on a new food management type a few months ago. Not for the better. Course, what should you expect at a hospital. They serve absolutely no salt normally (dash only), except I am low on Sodium, so I get salt. This morning I had to ask for margerine for my toast. Don't know if that was an oversight or if they expect people to eat dry toast. They didn't argue. just went and got me some margerine. So I'm not sure if it's shoddy workers in the kitchen or if thay really have changed like that.

My experience at both the Fort Harrison VA Medical Center and the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City is that the food service workers were really good at what they did, and in both facilities they were able to bring in pre-plated frozen kosher meals through their normal supplier, USA Food Service.

Coffee's on!

Nurse came in this morning dragging a blood pressure machine in one hand and a fresh cup of coffee in the other. Life is good in the fast lane. Menu says Pancakes for breakfast along with some grits and a small bowl of cantelope. And more coffee!

Edit - Oatmeal instead of grits, and they gave me two bowls. Somebody down in the kitchen loves me. D

Pecans in the oatmeal would have been nice. Maybe tomorrow cause I'll still be here.

Brats and sour krout on a hoaggie bun is scheduled for lunch in 30 mins. I'm hungry!

All you need is a nice German barmaid to bring you a beer.
