And here are two mature snowplows up on Lost Trail Pass. I wonder if they're hunting snowmobiles??

-5 with a windchill of -20 at my house this morning, supposed to be colder tonight.

Winter is back, and February, the longest month of the year, is here

Heh... my '63 Olds F85 would always start, even at -45. But my Fords are cold-blooded. They both resist mightily if it's below zero and they weren't plugged in. And the F350 will not go any faster than it wants to until it's completely warmed up, no matter how you tromp on the throttle. So either I plug it in all night (the recommended 4 hours doesn't cut it) or I tool along at 25mph until it decides it's time to go past 2nd gear.

-6 out but the wind has dropped. Feels almost toasty compared to what it was earlier!

I see the problem. February has developed delusions of being January.

This morning, it was -9. My Ford Diesel fired right up, I took off and headed for town. Had warm air before I got to the interstate (2 miles). I haven't plugged it in in years.

The Dodge fired right up, but I couldn't tell if the wife was even still in the house, all I found was a pile of blankets on the bed with a bad attitude!!

I haven't plugged in my heater in years, don't park in the garage either, but I do start it before bed which seems to work. -16 with windchill of -30 at my place this morning.
Woodpile....gone! January lulled me into a false complacency, I only used a cord for the last 2 months, so I knew I would need a little more, but this cold snap hit and the wife has the old stove belching fire and smoke and went through 2 weeks worth so far this week.

I had to order another cord last night. Normally I can go get more when I need it, and I went out Saturday to get some, but the area was so slick I couldn't get into the timber so only got what I could pack out to the truck.

I guess $110 delivered for a months + heat isn't too bad though....
