Life is too negative to be short.

Was I right about Chuck Schwab? I'd heard that when we lived in Florence for a brief spell some years back. In any case, if you wish to be positive, I know I'm right about the horrid air quality. It's a positive thing to avoid pollution whenever possible, is it not?

What was the question?

We just moved to Lewis and Clark County after a solid 12 years in Gallatin... (also lived in Gallatin off and on Growing up, so all together I've got about 35 in the valley...) It seems way less yuppified here, and we are loving it so far. (Plus my new place backs up to BLM land so it's a hunters dream Snow today though... and lots of it.

I lived in the Bitterroot Valley for two years. There are few jobs of ANY kind, even low paying ones. Most people work in Missoula, as I did. I worked in retail at the mall there. The housing costs are high, I had paid for a mobile home with cash and was paying lot rent only - that's the only reason I could afford to live there. Most people either came in with money or retirement pensions, made money from cashing out a house during the height of the bubble. or had bought homes 20 years or more earlier when the house were reasonable for an average working person. other than that, it seemed that a lot of people had their own, established businesses.

It's a beautiful area, that's for sure - if you can afford it.

I am origionally from the Bitteroot (Florence). Breathtaking...I miss it every day. My sister and her husband just moved to the Hamilton area. He is a pastor. It was difficult for the congregation to locate a house to rent...they did eventually find one. Sounds like jobs are scarce.
